Wintergreen is the fire in Fire & Ice—our muscle blend—and has a fantastic warming ability. Aromatically, it promotes clear breathing. Diffuse into the air or apply topically in 2–5% dilution (18–45 drops of oil to a 30ml bottle of carrier oil).
Wintergreen and Birch are nearly identical in their chemical and DNA make-up, the difference is that in their DNA, one was told to be a bush and the other a tree. Wintergreen is commonly used as bait to attract male orchid bees. Additionally, Wintergreen was first used by Native Americans to increase lung capacity and improve respiratory problems.
Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Undiluted oil not intended for topical use. May irritate eyes and skin. If pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your doctor or health practitioner before use. Infant use discouraged.
NOTE: Wintergreen has an exceptionally sweet smell and taste. It also contains high amounts of natural salicylates, which can thin blood. This combination makes Wintergreen essential oil a significant hazard to children. Keep out of reach of children, and always apply in dilution.
